This Week's Report
We spent time both nearshore and inshore this week and had a good mix of fish going.
Redfish, snook, trout, and flounder all showed up during the week, giving us plenty of options depending on the conditions and where we wanted to fish.
Most mornings started with a calm east wind, which made for comfortable conditions early in the day. By afternoon, we saw the typical late-summer showers that are common around Sarasota this time of year.
There is a lot of bait around right now, and that continues to help keep the fishing active. With plenty of forage in the area and fall getting closer, the next couple of months should continue to get better.
September is a great transition period for fishing around Sarasota. The summer heat begins to ease, bait remains plentiful, and both inshore and nearshore fishing can produce a good variety of species.
